This is your ETHVietnam Manual, and it includes everything you need to know about ETHVietnam, the surroundings and more. Read closely as we cover things to be aware of before departure, during transit to the venue from Tan Son Nhat International Airport, and information related to pre-registration dates, community efforts at ETHVietnam, side/after events, and more!

Some keywords for you:

Return Flight:

You’ll need to show a ticket for your returning flights to enter Vietnam.

Pro tip: Some travel sites like Priceline make it easy to book a flight and then cancel within 24 hours for a full refund, in case plans change.

Safety👷‍♀️

It essentially means, don’t make yourself an obvious target: use common sense while in Vietnam. That means:

  • Look where you’re going, being aware of the world around you rather than getting lost in your phone’s screen.

  • Don’t wear flashy items like expensive watches, or those gold-plated hardware wallets and loudly branded crypto-swag

  • Don’t walk around with your phone out or with your laptop when not necessary

  • It’s a big city, so leave those valuables (passport, excess cash/cards) at your hotel

  • Use Grab or Vinasun or Mailinh taxi, where a 20-min ride costs around $5 USD. Avoid hailing street taxis in favor of something with a reputation/rating system, an match those plates to what you see in the app, as always.

  • Try not to walk home alone at night

Weather ☀️ Ho Chi Minh City

In August, Ho Chi Minh City experiences a typical monsoon climate with high temperatures, high humidity, and frequent rain. The average temperature ranges from 25°C to 32°C (77°F to 90°F). Humidity is high, around 83%, and there are an average of 23.9 rainy days with 271mm of rainfall. Despite the rain, there are still plenty of sunshine hours, averaging around 11.9 per day. 

ETHVietnam Venue

The venue for Ethvietnam is Independence Palace at 135 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia street, District 1, HCMC, Vietnam.

Where to stay in Ho Chi Minh City 🏠

We have some recommendations for areas near the venue to make it easier for you to move around.

Currency Exchange 💶

The currency is the Vietnamese Dong (VND). You can exchange cash or withdraw from ATMs at the Airport.
You can check exchange rates here.

Translation Apps 📱

We recommend Google Translate but don’t be too worry, so many young Vietnamese speak English.

2. TRANSPORTATION

Most attendees will be landing soon, and we want to make sure you can easily find your way to the ETHVietnam venue.

The majority of folks will arrive at Tan Son Nhat International Airport. From there, it's easy to reach the city center and the ETHVietnam venue at Independence Palace | HCMC.

We recommend using Grab, Vinasun, or Mai Linh taxi from the airport to your accommodation or directly to the venue.

The fare to District 1 (city center) usually ranges from 120,000 VND to 180,000 VND depending on traffic and time of day.

3. ETHVIETNAM EVENT REGISTRATION

A. Pre-Registration 🧾

Optionally, skip the line on Day-1 by registering beforehand, and receive your wristband, SIM card (if you need one), and POAP before things even kick-off!! (TBC)

B. DOORS OPEN: On-site Registration 🥳

DOORS: August 8th, 2025 @ 8:00AM**

OPENING CEREMONY: August 8th, 2025 @ 9:00AM

PROGRAMMING: Each day at 9:30AM

ETHVIETNAM VENUE: Independence Palace | HCMC

Registration “Need to Know’’:

  • Before you arrive, you MUST redeem your code for a ticket QR and download the PDF to your device or print it in advance.

  • Wristbands are required for entry and must be picked up at registration.
    *Do not lose your wristband – it will not be replaced.

  • Swag will be distributed inside the venue during ETHVietnam.

C. Internet and SIM Cards 💻

You can easily buy simcard at the airport. Noi Bai also have wifi free at the airport for you to call the Grab.

4. VENUE & EXPERIENCE

A. Welcome to the INDEPENDENCE PALACE 🙏

On June 25, 1976, the Independence Palace was recognized as a National Cultural and Historical Relic (77A/VHQD Decision). It was then designated a National Special Relic on August 12, 2009 by Vietnam’s Prime Minister (1272/QD-TTg Decision). The Independence Palace is among Vietnam’s first ten special national relics.

Reunification Hall is the management agency for the Independence Palace. Pursuant to Decision 709/QĐ-VPCP dated June 14, 2013 by the Minister, Chairman of the Government Office, Reunification Hall is a state-run business unit tasked with Palace management and preservation; as well as serving delegations attending government, Party, and State meetings, conferences, and other functions.

3 intense days of conferences, networking, and learning, bring together up to 1000+ builders, developers, and blockchain enthusiasts. Including talks, discussions, and networking opportunities, we'll be having future art installations, NFT AI exhibitions and special events.

You can join #Hackathon IRL from 8 – 10 August, 2025 at Vietnam Build Week – A official side event of ETHVN25. The hacker room will be used for hackathon and short workshops for hackers. Everything you need for hackers: electricity, comfort table & chair, the light. Buidl!

Vietnamese food is truly “ngon”! In Ho Chi Minh City, we don’t have rollups 😛 — but we do have Phở, Bánh Mì, Hủ Tiếu, Cơm Tấm, Bánh Tráng Nướng, and hundreds of flavorful dishes waiting for you to explore.

From lively street food alleys to hidden gem cafes, rooftop bars, and local restaurants — HCMC has it all.
Whether you're team “Bún Thịt Nướng” or team “Ốc đêm”, your taste buds are in for an adventure.
